Welcome to Hawthorne Country Club

Hawthorne Country Club is Southern Maryland's only private member owned club with facilities for athletic sports as well as social gatherings for the whole family. Tucked away on Rt. 225 outside of La Plata Maryland, over looking the Port Tobacco Valley, we offer one of the best views in Charles County. We have social activities including dances, parties and card leagues.

Our Par 72 Ed Ault designed golf course offers fun for the novice golfer as well as the most advanced player. No tee times are required, so play is available when you are. We have a wide variety of golf tournaments throughout the year for Men, Women and Mixed players as well as Mens and Ladies Golf Leagues. We also offer a Junior Golf program during the Summer months as well as individual golf instruction all year long from our PGA certified golf professional.

We have a large swimming pool as well as a fenced baby pool and playground. Our competitive Swim Team swims throughout the Summer with meets here at HCC and around the County. We have four lighted Tennis Courts with a tennis professional offering lessons and tournaments throughout the Summer months.

Our clubhouse boasts a full restaurant and bar facility with an enclosed deck, outside deck and snack bar deck to take in the fabulous views. St. Babe's Tavern on the Green offers Steaks, Seafood and Pasta entrees as well a variety of sandwiches, salads and homemade soups. The Restaurant and Bar area is the only area of the Club that is open to the public and is available for your party, banquet and business function needs.
